Rotary Lasers for Swimming Pool Installation: Where They Fit

A swimming-pool project can involve excavation, structural levels, coping and surrounding landscaping. A rotary laser is useful when you need to transfer a consistent level reference around that wider work area.
Establish the datum first
The laser does not decide the pool's design levels. Establish the required datum from the project information, then use the rotary system to transfer that reference around the site.
Use a receiver for site work
Outdoor pool construction is a natural receiver-based job. A receiver on a staff lets you compare different points with the laser reference without relying on direct beam visibility.
Where grade functions matter
Grade capability is useful only where the work actually calls for a controlled slope. Don't choose a grade-capable rotary simply because it is the higher-spec model.
G60, G70 or G80?
For straightforward level transfer, the G60 is the simpler starting point. Where the project requires grade functions, move to a grade-capable option such as G70 or G80. The G80 also offers a stated range up to 600m with its receiver, ±1.5mm accuracy at 30m and IP66 protection.
What the laser does not do
It does not establish structural requirements, drainage design, waterproofing details or safe excavation practice. Those come from the relevant design, manufacturer and competent trades.
The bottom line
Use a rotary laser to transfer known site levels efficiently. Choose extra range or grade functions only when the pool project needs them.
